day by day

I hope its only a phase
I've been feeling strange for days
and if this never ends
I happy you once called me a friend
and no im not okay
we don't always mean the things we say
I cant get out of this bed
Everyday I have this ache in my head
and its only too soon
to leave the cold comfort of this room
floating in space
the world keeps spinning
while I stay in place
Went on a walk after dark
Flowers blooming under every star
Its so easy to see
still I find it hard to believe
Im not always this way
im just taking it day by day
I hope its only a phase
Ive been feeling insane for days
and if this never ends
im happy to have called you a friend
and no Im not okay
I don't always mean the things I say

only words
03:20
|
|||
Softly she spoke only words
with the press of a pen
and each passing breath
A letter to no one she wrote
at the edge of her bed
in a cloud of cigarette smoke
Only words
tossed around with a flick of the wrist
in a quaint summer town
Only words
and always last on the list
the first ones she found
"I'm leaving today" she said
with her hands in the air
at the top of the stairs
The man with his chin on the floor
stood by the door and said
"what would you do a thing like that for?"
Only words
no one can tell if its a will o the wisp
or some far away town
Only words
lost in the crowd with a stifling lisp
that would make mama proud
Well on the way to a place
where she'd find herself space
to figure things out
She'd stare out the window for days
and have conversations
with a host of old friends in her head
Only words
tossed around with a flick of the wrist
in a quaint summer town
Only words
and always last on the list
the first ones she found

union square
01:51
|
|||
saw you dressed in black
walking round
union square
and you thought that no one
would find you there
just one half hearted excuse
and it tends to only leave you bare
thought I heard your name
shouted out through the door
saw her part the crowd
in the clothes you once wore
some things are easy to do
sometimes its hard to ignore

no one can say
01:48
|
|||
Down where
no one can say
longing to lay
beside her
Sounds tear
song fills the air
feels different today
without her
And if this is only a maze
then why don't you say so
and let me go home
Stay home
nowhere to go
and no one will know if
you're sober
One more round
follow you down
just wake me when
its over

see the sunshine
01:50
|
|||
i dont want to see the sunshine
i dont want to let it show
shes given me all i need to know
i dont want to dance with you girl
i dont want to play this game
i dont need someone to take her place
i dont even want to know your name
sooner or later it all gets rearranged
i dont want to see the sunshine
i dont want to watch it go
shes given me a pain that cant be dulled
